Thank You, Projects — Where COMS Began in Brighton

Our very first Community Managers Summit was hosted at Projects in Brighton. A heartfelt thank-you to the team, and a look at why it's such a special coworking space and event venue.

Every community has an origin story. Ours starts on September 4th, 2025, in a sun-washed room in Brighton — at Projects, the home of the very first COMS Summit.

This one is simple: thank you, Projects. You didn't just give us a room. You gave a brand-new event its first home, and you set the tone for everything COMS has become since.

A space that already understood community

Choosing a venue for the inaugural summit was daunting. We weren't just looking for square metres and a projector — we were looking for somewhere that felt like the thing we were building. A place where community managers from 15+ countries would walk in and immediately feel they belonged.

Projects got it instantly.

  • Rooms that flex. Across the day we ran 5 interactive workshops, reconfigured spaces for breakouts, and still had room for the unstructured hallway conversations where the magic actually happens.
  • Natural light and good energy. Brighton's creative, seaside spirit runs through the building. People relaxed, opened up, and connected faster because of it.
  • A layout that invites people to mix. The best coworking spaces are designed so strangers bump into each other on purpose. Projects is one of them.

The team made it effortless

If you've ever run an event, you know the truth: the venue is only as good as the people behind it. This is where Projects really shone.

From the first email to the last chair stacked, the Projects team treated our event like it was their own. Nothing was too much trouble.

Their team anticipated problems before they happened, adapted on the fly when our agenda shifted, and welcomed every attendee with genuine warmth. A special thank-you to community manager Dylan, who showcased the space and made everyone feel instantly at home. For first-time event organisers, that kind of calm, capable hospitality is worth more than any amenity list.

It's no surprise, really. Projects is a certified B Corp that's been home to 3,000+ people across its Brighton spaces — Nile House and the Grade II-listed Ship Street — with a rooftop, a packed events calendar, and the seafront just minutes away.

If you're looking for coworking or an event space in Brighton

We're obviously biased now — but if you're a remote worker, a growing team, or an organiser scouting an event venue in Brighton, here's our honest take on why Projects is worth a visit:

You're looking for…Why Projects works
A daily coworking homeWelcoming community, flexible space, great light
A place to host a workshop or eventAdaptable rooms and a team that runs events daily
A community to plug intoPeople who genuinely look out for one another

A great coworking space isn't measured by its furniture. It's measured by how it makes people feel and how it helps them connect. By that measure, Projects is the real thing.

Where it led

The seeds planted in Brighton grew into a global community — and into our second summit at Monday Pau Claris in Barcelona. None of it happens without that first yes in Brighton.

So from all of us, and from every community manager who found their people in that room: thank you, Projects. You'll always be where COMS began.
